Mother Teresa Calcutta, "Hope in Darkness", print only. Signed by artist Patrick Campbell.
The "Hope in the Darkness" pencil art by Patrick Campbell is a depiction of the 50 years of darkness that the saint endured. At one point in her life, she could hear our Lord speak and direct her. In this art work, St. Mother Teresa is captured fixated on the Holy Eucharist. She was waiting on the Lord patiently for hope in her darkness. She becomes the reflection of the Light of Christ. She becomes the "hope" for others. She becomes our hope in the darkness.
Prayer for the Poor
Make us worthy, Lord, to serve those people throughout the world who live and die in poverty and hunger. Give them through our hands, this day, their daily bread, and by our understanding love, give them peace and Joy. Amen
~Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Look at the Cross and you will see Jesus' head bent to kiss you, His arms extended to embrace you, His heart opened to receive you, to enclose you within His love. Knowing that the Cross was His greater love for you and for me, let us accept His Cross in whatever He wants to give, let us give with joy whatever He wants to take, for in doing so they will know that we are His disciples, that we belong to Jesus, that the work you and I and all the Brothers and Sisters do is but our love in action...
